I don't think I've experienced this level of excitement in buying new makeup like the way I did when I saw the Makeup Geek Cosmetics package arrive at my door. A little back story, Marlena, the creator of Makeup Geek, is who inspired me to start my YouTube channel in 2009. One of my first videos was an entry to her "Black and White" contest that I nervously created in hopes to win a prize by the lovely Marlena. That's when the madness and magic of my beauty channel all began!
What I particularly love about this is line is that Marlena created beauty products that are truly affordable and high quality - a hybrid that is incredibly hard to achieve when it comes to makeup. The black gel eyeliner was the first item I added to my cart, I can never have enough black gel eyeliner. The biggest struggle I generally have with gel eyeliner is that it never seems rich enough in color and it tends to dry out quickly. The MG black gel liner in "Immortal" defies those low gel liner expectations and is extra friendly to my wallet. You get a very intense black line with a lot of control because of the very creamy long-wearing formula.
For the MG eyeshadows, they are almost replica size and the look of MAC Cosmetics eyeshadows. At just $5.99 a pop, you get a lot of product in each eyeshadow pan that you customize to your eyeshadow palettes (I love the Z palettes and MAC palettes especially). I bought "Frappe", "Homecoming", and "Bitten" for pan eyeshadows one loose pigment called "Utopia".
You can see me talk about and demonstrate the products I bought in a video tutorial here.
